Nancy Berkley is an expert on marketing golf to women. Her book, Women Welcome Here! A Guide to Growing Women's Golf, published by the National Golf Foundation, is the industry reference on how to attract and retain women golfers. She updates research on her website www.berkleyconsulting.com and several other websites including www.cybergolf.com/womensgolf. Her observations and marketing advice are referred to in national media, including USA Today and the Wall Street Journal and she consults with golf facilities and manufacturers. She is also the author of An Insider's Guide to Careers in the Golf Industry published by the NGF.
In 2007, Nancy helped launch Golfer Girl Magazine, a new magazine for junior girls with an online version at golfergirlmagazine.com. She chaired the magazine's Advisory Board along with Suzy Whaley and Karen Moraghan and wrote a unique career column for junior girls in each issue. "This is my way to give back to the game and insure that I will be able to play golf with my grandchildren," she explains. She recently launched a companion site www.GolferGirlCareers.com
Nancy was a Contributor to Golf for Women magazine and is the author of the 2004 player-development cover story in PGA Magazine about women golfers. Nancy serves as a consultant to the Golden Links Advisory Board of Corporate Meetings & Incentives, a PRIMEDIA Business Publication.
Nancy speaks and moderates panels at industry events including conferences sponsored by the LPGA and the National Golf Course Owner's Association. In March 2008, she moderated a panel sponsored by the LPGA at the World Scientific Congress of Golf in Phoenix, Arizona. In June 2008, she was the featured speaker at the Northern California Business Golf for Women conference and tournament. Nancy is a long-standing member of the National Golf Foundation and participates in Golf 20/20, the industry's annual strategic conference.
Nancy grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota and is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, Harvard University and Rutgers Law School. Prior to working in the golf industry, Nancy was an attorney for Sullivan and Cromwell, a Wall Street law firm in New York and then held a number of senior executive positions with Prudential Financial, including Assistant General Counsel and Vice President of Corporate Marketing & Business Integration. Nancy began her professional career as a high school teacher. In 1998, Nancy embarked on an encore career and founded Berkley Golf Consulting to merge her marketing background with her long-time interest in golf. She lives in Palm Beach Gardens at PGA National. She is on the Board and Chairman of the Golf Committee at Banyan Golf Club, a private club in West Palm Beach. She describes herself as a good bogey golfer with permanent potential.
